"I, Mihana, invite you into this world of mine....filled with light....touched with rust,....and shared with love." The roots of my music are in my family and reach back to the first Polynesian settlers of the islands. I began singing informally with my mother, Irmgarde Farden Aluli, while I was still in high-school and college. I began singing in the group Puamana when I was 27. Over the next 23 years, Mother, Sister Aima, Cousin Luana and myself worked and sang together both in live performances and in recordings. After Mom passed away I began exploring to find my own direction and purpose. Rust On The Moon is the first result of my search"		"Rust On The Moon," shows a variety of musical genre, ranging from jazz to rock, which are seamlessly blended into an mix that leaves you wanting more. Whether Mihana is crooning the heartfelt sentiments of "Rust" and "Easy" or is taking you on the great rockin' ride of "Hula" or "Love", you will no doubt find yourself singing along. Mihana not only delivers with a voice of gold, but amazingly has written both the lyrics and music for all but one of the twelve selections offered.

1. Rust The year Mom wrote Rust. Dad finished law school and this picture was taken on our return to our beloved Hawaii. There is rust on the moon tonight..... There's no longer a golden light.... Rust that enters all my thoughts it seems... Rust that ruins all my golden dreams... There is rust on the moon tonight cause you left me alone to cry..... Why did we have to quarrel... Why did you have to go.... Will you be back tomorrow.... So you can wipe that rust off the moon.	2. Friend I grew up surrounded by my family-my cousins were my best friends. Hello...Old Friend..Gee... It's nice to see you once again ... It's been so long and so far from that road back then... that road we traveled together... You have been always in my thoughts... My heart fills to the brim... I've kept the love you have given to me deep within... It's carried me through all my troubles and all my sorrows... You don't know... My memories of you have kept me sane.. You don't know they've taken me through thick and thin... And brought me safely home again and again... Oh...Hello old friend...Gee .. Unadulterated through and through.. If I had to choose it.. You know I would lose it... Cuz I'm crazy...Crazy for you.. Oh...People get sleazy/queasy when they hear I'm easy... Believe me it's true...Oh, yes... I'm so easy exceptionally/exquisitely easy, especially.. When it comes to you.	5. Mama Puamana. Me my Mother Irmgard, my sister Aima and cousin, Luana. Tears are falling... A heart is breaking... Body's aching in the night... Take me... Take me... Home to Mama... Mama make me feel alright... Kiss the hurt... Wrap the wound... Hold me ticht... Croon a tune... Rock me gently... Soothe the pain... Mama Make me... Whole again.	6. Hula HRM! Good fun! Well, I'm a Mama from Kailua.... Livin' on a beautiful bay... I've been working real hard... Raising up a great family... I've been cleaning, scrubbing, cooking, loving... Now I just want to play... I want to kick off my shoes...Let my hair down... Grab a lavalava and shake it to town... I want to mash the sweet potatoes... Bump the coconuts... Grind the Kona coffee and drink it all up... I want to Hula Rock, cuz I'm a Hula Rock Mama... Like the waves in the ocean... I'de like to be a love song to sing you soft and low... It's a night made for Aloha for me to be with you... Beneath a full Hawaiian moon in an 'olu 'olu* rendezvous... Aloha mai...The night is bright as day... E'ho'i mai, mai oe, ma'a nei... There's a full Hawaiian moon... And the wind is blowing slow... I'de like to be a love song... To sing you soft and low.
